Jhat-Pat Healthy Palak Chicken

Well my first recipe post written by Srushti who cooks really amazing food and can cook so many variety of dishes. She had come up with Chocolate Rum Mousse which was the best I had after having some great Promfret Fry and Prawns.

So please enjoy and note down this.....

Ingredients:
250 gms boneless chicken
250 gms spinach with stems (Washed)
50 gms Fresh coriander
2 medium Onion (Finely Chopped)
1 Whole garlic (Finely Chopped)
Asafeotida
Turmeric
Coriander powder
Salt

For Marinate:
One tablespoon Curd
Turmeric
Chilly Powder
Jeera powder
Salt

For the Palak base:
Boil water in a large container
Put the washed spinach in the water for 5 minutes
Make a paste of spinach and fresh coriander and keep aside.

In a pan take 1 teaspoon oil (teaspoon and not tablespoon) sprinkle some asafoetida then fry finely chopped onions. Once the onions turn brown add finely chopped garlic. Add half a teaspoon each of turmeric, chilly power, coriander powder and salt to taste. Once the masala turns a soft brown add the spinach coriander paste.

For Chicken:
Cut boneless chicken into medium pieces. Marinate chicken pieces, keep aside for 7-8 minutes. Then roast the pieces in tandoor. In case you do not have facility to roast the chicken pieces, stir fry in a pan with 1 teaspoon oil. Boneless chicken cooks very fast and you can cook it in an open pen within 4-5 minutes.

Mix the chicken pieces with the Spinach. Tah dah! your Healthy low fat Spinach Chicken is ready.

Garnish with coriander leaves or some milk cream or Chopped almonds.

Ok, for vegetarians you could replace chicken with Paneer and follow the same process. Alternatively you could boil some sweet corn kernels and add to the spinach.

Prep time 10 minutes
Cooking time 10 minutes

Not just snacks - Chicken Palak

Moti Mahal Deluxe - Nice but definately not Deluxe

My second visit to Inorbit Mall Moti Mahal after years with friends. Located at the entry of the Fame Theatre which you cannot miss it.

This place prides itself for creating the best tandoori food which is true to one sense but there is a catch which I shall tell at the end.

We seated ourselves, the place is bit cramped up as spaces near other eaters was very near (i think they could listen to all our jokes)

As all were non vegeterians we started off with Promfret Tandoor and Chicken Tandoor Platter, for such a big place we get only one piece of Fish and almost 5 pieces of chicken for 4 people. Which I think is rather less compared to paying more than 250+ for each stuff.

Then we ordered Chicken Tawa, which was soft and properly spiced and Paneer Methi Malai as the name says was sweet but not too much with Garlic Naan and Kulcha, surprising part is waiters don't serve Roti on your quarter plate you have to find what you have ordered and then eat it. They did serve the main course properly but no roti..why why why?

Now comes the main part...COST...I know the food made here is nice and all jazz but Rs. 200+ for Chicken Tawa I mean common you gotta be kidding me.

So that would be my last visit to Moti Mahal Deluxe until and unless someone gives me a party there ;)

The Coast - Cool Place for Good Food

I am a sucker for unlimited food for a fix cost and friends had decided to meet there...I was only tempted to meet them just for the food and the buffet (selfish me).

For the first time I went the cost of the buffet was Rs. 299 + taxes and then it increased to Rs. 499 + taxes.

The Coast true to its name is well created place which has sand from the beaches and shacks placed and an open area. So you truly feel that you are on a beach and having food..i mean good food.
Note: They have stopped the buffet service :(
So what did the buffet have, well 4 varieties of veggies and 4 varieties of non veg food in main course and 1 starter each. I had gone there twice and was not at all disappointed with the non veg section. They do stock up well and people with different taste enjoyed the food coz they had 2 chicken dish, 1 mutton dish and 1 fish dish (or at times prawns/tisrya[shell fish]) . To top it off they used to serve unlimited Beer *yes yes you read it right UNLIMITED BEER* and unlimited Hookah which really complimented the konkani styled food.

The only problem was service which at time lacked quality and forgot that we wanted something.
Now I have to try the A'la Carte in Coast.

Dominos Pizza: Domi - No for Pasta

It was a New Year and I was lazying at home just chilling out, watching random movies, reading books etc etc and clock turns 1:30 pm thats when I decide to have something different and decided on Dominos Pasta...

Note: Dominos does not deliver only Pastas you have to order to get the pasta with it

Delivery comes exactly in half an hour...and I proceed to attack the pasta...opened up the sealed box (they pack it similar to the railways pantry style). The box opens and I look at red sauce splashed over the pasta, which indicates that I have to mix them properly. There are too many veggies around and less of Pasta which was surprising and it did not fill up my stomach (glad i ordered pizza also)

So overall review: Avoid pasta coz nothing great....

Aroma Of China - Aromatic Experience

One of those fine dining Chinese place where you would want to go once just for the experience. I went to the one in Oberoi Mall in Goregaon East. Located at top floor and once you are inside the restaurant you don't really feel like you are in a mall.

Big open space and good distance between 2 tables gives you enough privacy. High Ceiling and good wooden design makes it a chill place to be.

We ordered for a  SeaFood Lemon Soup which was a clear soup with few pieces of fishes and good tinch of lemon in it.

Our next started was Steamed Chicken Wonton which was well garnished with spices just to keep the flavoring well and not too bland.

Final main course was Beijing Veg Clay Pot Rice and Spinach Clivers with Almonds, both came in with good quantity and complimented each other coz Clay Pot rice was nice and soggy while spinach was Crispy (i mixed them both).

Ambiance, again said before all chilled out and waiters know the food. (ohh you can gulp down on Hot Tea - unlimited)

Cost, expensive enough but worth every penny as food is good.

Pot Pourri - Does Pot a Punch

So being there 2 times before I write this one and both the times I was supremely amazed with their food. I would say this is one of the best Italian joint around in terms of cost, quantity, quality ratio.

Being there in the evening both the time where you would have to enjoy the horns from the traffic as it is located right next to the junction of Turner Road. Not a place to have a quite dinner and I mean literally coz of the traffic.

So we had Cheese Fettuccine, which was just proper and what fills my heart was it had a good quantity which one can enjoy one full plate and not be hungry for more.

The other thing we ordered was Chargrilled Olive Prawns with Herb Garlic Sauce, with Risotto with it. Risotto was pink in colour and it was tasty again enough for one person

Suggested food item to have here is chicken stroganoff which is tasty and I think the chef never goes wrong with it.

Ambiance is all cool where the waiters are not standing over your head but at times I do feel they are short staffed.

Cost, I would say not too expensive for the quantity of the food they give you. So as said before and shall repeat again, they do maintain a good ratio between cost, quantity and quality

Out of The Blue - Nothing Blue about it

Met up with friends at CCD Carter Road and then decided to have dinner as we all know about the options we have on that road after deciding for hours we all confirmed for Out of the Blue....as it was Friday night the place was bit packed and we had to wait for 45 mins. The best part of waiting there you can drool on their pastries which they put up on the display just at the entry.

A group of 8  were given space to sit in Air Conditioned section as it was too hot...everyone says this place is romantic and good for couples well, I guess, I missed that part cause we were all shouting as place was packed Friday would not be a place for Couples in Out of the Blue.

We ordered Cottage Cheese Jalapeno which was just ok, regular Cottage Cheese in green colour and a piece of Jalapeno on the top.

Next in round was Pastas and Sizzlers, Out of the Blue has a Regular and Large section, you could order according to your appetite. We ordered 2 Make your own Sizzlers one with Chicken Breast and other Chicken Shaslik, you do have an option to decide your own sauce, veggies and side dish like rice, spaghetti or mash potatoes (hash).

The best part was at the end, we ordered chocolate fondue which was super yumm which comes with Fruits and Chocolate Brownie.

As it is a fine dining don't expect the place to be cheap...but sizzlers are worth the cost.

It is a must try place for good Italian Food.

Midnight Buffet - La Brasserie (Le Meridian)

Immense bay windows overlook the shimmering pool. A sumptuous buffet presents familiar and exotic selection of Indian, French, Italian, Oriental, and Mediterranean specialties. The midnight buffet is especially popular for a late night haunt.
This is what they have written on their website to which I agree to the last sentence about Midnight Buffet, being too few in Mumbai and for me this one tops the list.

With 2 soups, 10 starters, 10 main course, ice creame and live kitchen. At times you do get a bottle of beer or glass of wine complimentary. The service is generally good and food does taste really good.

Damages: Rs. 550+ per person

Generally the Buffet closes at 3 am.....

Rating: 4 stars out of 5

MidNight Buffet - Parabola (Rodas ECotel Hotel)

As many would say not the best nor near the best amongst the buffet and I would seriously agree with them but this is one place where you can get food after 12 pm. So you hungry and insomniac soul who just want to sit and eat their very very late dinner in Powai so this is the place.

Cost around Rs. 350+ per person this place gives you almost everything 2 soups, 6+ starters, 6+ main course and at times an live kitchen. Service is good but not that great. Also note that they do not refill the food which is finished so make sure you do reach there by 12 or else you might miss some of the food as the place is packed (coz there is only one around)

Also check out the menu card of Parabola here

So a 2.5 star rating for Parabola

Vodka Hookah

Well guys i am not going to into all the details of Hookah and origins and other aspects of it...just wanna tell you what else you can do to make your Hookah awesome when made with friends. First to know more about Hookah do read this

Also if you want to know how it looks and work check out the image *source wikipedia ofcourse

As you can see my heading Vodka Hookah and you would go and say what the hell...was in Lonavala for my Sister's b'day party got suggested of adding Vodka to the Water Jar and we did that gleefully. The vodka does gives you enough kick to enjoy the party.

Also instead of putting Water in water jar you can just put Vodka (Hookah on the rocks) but as spirit does finish very quickly you wont get more than 5 drags for a quarter but surely gives you an awesome high....

So next time do something different

Note: Use Magic Coal if you are making your own Hookah burns very fast and stays on for one...for 8 coals you get for Rs. 80
