Today morning my Mom who is one hell of a cook (love ya!) created something which was so out of the way and I would not mind having it once a week for breakfast.
I cannot name the dish right now as it has got so many things in it but currently I name it Anon
Ingredients:
1. Bowl full of Chrispy Corn Flakes
2. Honey
3. Dry Fruits (whatever you wish)
4. Olive Oil
5. Hung Curd
6. Kiwi Fruit (1 piece)
7. Banana (1 Piece)
8. Strawberry Crush
It is a multiple process dish:
Part 1:
Pour little Olive Oil in a pan and add Corn Flakes (depending on how much you like it) and then 1 tablespoon of Honey and cook for 2 to 3 mins. And then add dry fruits to it. And let it cool a lil bit.
Part 2:
Cut and peel the fruits (avoid the orange) we took Kiwi and Banana as they are so different and peeled and cut into very small pieces.
Part 3:
Make hung curd, add some sugar and strawberry crush and mix it very well.
Now mixing part: Put the fruit in the bottom of the bowl and spread curd mix over it and top it off with cooked corn flakes. And enjoy.
You shall get the crunchy sweet flavor of the corn flakes, sweetness of curd with strawberry and raw feeling of the fruits. Sorry the photo is not there coz I forgot to click one when I was helping mom cooking it.

Guava Curry/Peru Curry Recipe
I did not know that there used to be Guava Curry/Guava Bhaji which is a specialty of Rajasthan. It is one the rare fruit where curry is made and enjoyed with Roti.
The taste of the curry is a mix of tanginess, sweetness, saltiness. The full flavor of Guava/Peru is there and it really feels like you are having them raw. So here is the Recipe.
Ingredients:
- 4 Peru aka Guava (Green or Ripe peru/Guava)
- Salt to Taste
- Sugar
- Lime Water
- 2 Tbsp Oil
- Turmeric
- Jeera Seed
- Red Chilli Powder
- Dhanya powder
- Water
- Pour Oil in the Pan and heat it.
- Put Jeera seed and let it crackle
- Peel and cut the Peru in small cubes. Add them in the pan.
- Then add Turmeric, Chilli Powder, Dhanya Powder and Salt to taste
- Mix well and add little water.
- Cook on a low flame till the Guava/Peru cubes are soft.
- When it is nearly cooked add Lime Juice and Sugar
- Then continue cooking for one minute.
Next one will be Raw Banana Curry.

Britannia and Company Restaurant - Ol' School Restaurant
One of the few Iranians/Parsi restaurants in Mumbai and Cafe Britannia is amongst the top. Opened since 1923 this place was as expensive than as it is today. Reason, well the place it was open was an eminent business road where the CEO's of big shipping company used to come and eat and why would rich people eat in a restaurant which cost less.
The place is famous for its Berry Pulao [Berry is an Iranian fruit which is served is used for garnishing the pulao]. So a friend decided to meet up and what better place to meet than Cafe Britannia on a lazy saturday afternoon. So we reached at 2 pm and to our surprise there was a waiting of 45 mins which included some foreigners and Indians also.
We first order the all famous Rosy Rasberry Soda but the owner wanted us to taste the lemon soda *with the swing of the arm* "to beat the Mumbai heat".
Then a group of 7 ordered 3 patra nu machi and berry pulao with Kheema, chicken and mutton. Patra Nu Machi has a huge portion which should be considering it cost Rs. 350 with awesome green chutney on top of it. The pulao never disappoints me and they were good though a bit steep cost wise a different taste altogether. Finally we topped it off with caramel custard and misti dohi.
Total cost around Rs. 2800 for 7 people and again satisfied as for few it was the first visit.
