One of the few Iranians/Parsi restaurants in Mumbai and Cafe Britannia is amongst the top. Opened since 1923 this place was as expensive than as it is today. Reason, well the place it was open was an eminent business road where the CEO's of big shipping company used to come and eat and why would rich people eat in a restaurant which cost less.
The place is famous for its Berry Pulao [Berry is an Iranian fruit which is served is used for garnishing the pulao]. So a friend decided to meet up and what better place to meet than Cafe Britannia on a lazy saturday afternoon. So we reached at 2 pm and to our surprise there was a waiting of 45 mins which included some foreigners and Indians also.
We first order the all famous Rosy Rasberry Soda but the owner wanted us to taste the lemon soda *with the swing of the arm* "to beat the Mumbai heat".
Then a group of 7 ordered 3 patra nu machi and berry pulao with Kheema, chicken and mutton. Patra Nu Machi has a huge portion which should be considering it cost Rs. 350 with awesome green chutney on top of it. The pulao never disappoints me and they were good though a bit steep cost wise a different taste altogether. Finally we topped it off with caramel custard and misti dohi.
Total cost around Rs. 2800 for 7 people and again satisfied as for few it was the first visit.

Paradise - Heavenly Food
Fifth Day of Ganesh Chaturti me and my friend Kaiwan decided on going to eat somewhere out as we left late from office. After contemplating of 100 of places we decided going to Paradise. Located near Strand Cinema if you walk/drive by too fast you will miss it.
We enter to an empty restaurant due to the fact that it was Visarjan day and people were scared to move out, place has some really awesome painting on the walls about Adam and Eve which we were laughing our ass out.
We started by ordering the Chicken Lolly which is a potato based and chicken filled inside it. Top it with a yellow mayo which you wont get anywhere else was super tasty. We had Roghan Chicken with it, the taste was like one made at home.
Then round 2 started where we had Chicken Cheese Roll, they did not mind putting a super hell lot of cheese in the food and we were happy a lot. Thinking we could have more we ordered Chicken Dhanshak and Chicken Pattie. We had so much we could barely walk and the total bill was Rs. 770 only without tax (management is going to introduce VAT from this week)

Jimmy Boy - A bit boyish it was
This post is done by Kaiwan Yezdani (my foodie colleague and friend) which i have copied on my blog.
To start with, i went there on the Parsi new year. So i guess the place was a little bit crowded...
What did i eat?
Lagan nu Bhonu
What is that?
Some saria (waffles)
Laganu nu achaar
3 Rotis
1 Piece of Paatra ni Macchi OR 1 piece Saas ni macchi
1 Portion Salli murgi OR salli ghosht
1 serving chicken / mutton pulao
Dal
Lagan nu custard.
What did i drink?
Raspberry soda.
Quantity?
Average. Just one serving (in parsi weddings u can take as much u like and the caterers charge nearly the same.)
Price?
475 Non veg
350 Veg
Quality
The fish was good, but the salli murgi was a let down. Pulao was just OK. Nothing great. Biggest disappointment was the lagan nu custard; it was as hard as broon pao.
Service
Maybe because the place was packed or maybe because we were 11 of us but the service was very poor. I was literally coordinating with the waiters on what needs to be served, what orders are pending, etc. The Parsi Uncle taking the orders was very soft spoken and slow at things.
Tilt?
For some one who is dying to have good patra ni macchi without going to a parsi wedding then this is the place.
Would i go again?
No i had enough
